The clients’ beautiful home sits in a gorgeous Canmore location and was to die for in every sense, except for the cramped and uninspired Master Ensuite.

So, we took over an inefficient walk-in closet space, a small toilet room and the existing bathroom to capitalize on space. We added a window and re-configured the layout to incorporate the client’s full wish-list – a luxurious soaker tub for after-ski relaxation, a spacious steam shower, a dual-sink vanity, a semi-private toilet-room, a dressing/packing bench and a perfectly curated European-style wardrobe organization. We maximized concealed and perfectly-planned storage with shower and tub niches, a lift-up vanity tower and an island with jewellery drawers and a concealed garbage.

The materials palette is all about modern rugged luxury – contrasting Euro-modern with mountain-inspired and classic elements. We incorporated large-scale contemporary tiles with a reclaimed wood-plank and marble mosaics. A rustic, custom-made barn door leads the way into the Ensutie, yet all the cabinetry millwork features slab-style minimal-grain Alder, paired with modern hardware and waterfall quartz counter returns. The wall of reclaimed-wood plank tiles is juxtaposed with ultra-modern floor-to-ceiling metal-framed glass sliding doors at the wardrobe. The ensuite is capped off with a blingy, water-droplet inspired chandelier because who wouldn’t want a little sparkle during their r-and-r time?
